News » Royal Rumble 2014 Number Entrant Announced + Kickoff Show Expert Panel Revealed (Ric, HBK, Duggan)
Joining Josh Mathews on the pay-per-view pre-show on the panel will be “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels.
It was announced on WWE RAW on Monday night that CM Punk will be the number one entrant in this Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble match.
According To WWE.COM: Good and evil will meet head-on this Sunday when WWE’s beloved “Yes!” man, Daniel Bryan, faces the sermonizing savage known as Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble.
With his seeming indoctrination of Bryan several weeks ago, Wyatt may have thought he was on his way to helping yet another follower tap into his inner monster. Yet, as the WWE Universe and Wyatt found out in one of the most rousing scenes in Raw history on Jan. 13, The Beard cannot be tamed. Just one week after donning Wyatt Family garb for the first time, Bryan escaped Wyatt’s clutches and decimated The Eater of Worlds inside a padlocked steel cage, much to the jubilation of WWE fans.
Bryan’s short-lived affiliation with the Family, it appears, was a setup all along, a means of getting close to the enigmatic evildoer. In his short time in WWE, Wyatt has established himself as a master of head games, but how will he react knowing that he was outplayed by the tenacious submission specialist?
The two Superstars have crossed paths before, including in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at WWE TLC in which The Beard fought valiantly but narrowly lost to The Eater of Worlds and his towering disciples, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. Wyatt expresses precious little concern over victories and losses, seemingly placing greater importance on spreading his message. Still, one might assume he will have more to prove in his imminent showdown against the former WWE Champion.
Which Superstar will get the last laugh at Royal Rumble? Will The Eater of Worlds punish Bryan for abandoning The Family? Or will Bryan, galvanized by the overwhelming support of the WWE Universe, put this nightmare behind him? To find out, watch Royal Rumble this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, live on pay-per-view.
According To WWE.COM: Sunday at Royal Rumble, mainstays of the Attitude Era that will soon be a huge part of the WWE Network will comprise what promises to be an epic WWE Tag Team Championship Match. Time will seem to have stopped when The New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn look to add a sixth tandem title to their legacy by dethroning the dynamic dynasty of Goldust and Cody Rhodes, his younger sibling by 16 years.
After abandoning CM Punk in a Six-Man Tag Team Match against The Shield and then seemingly being rewarded by their old DX running buddy turned WWE Chief Operating Officer, Triple H, with a non-title match against the WWE Tag Team Champions, the Outlaws stole a victory on SmackDown thanks to a timely interruption by Vickie Guerrero and a handful of tights. Furthering their “fortunate” circumstances, The New Age Outlaws have now been rewarded with a WWE Tag Team Title Match on Royal Rumble Kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT, live on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox, Sony PS3, Pinterest and Pheed, with a special Kickoff Panel featuring WWE Hall of Famers "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels.
Goldust and Cody Rhodes won the WWE Tag Team Titles from Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns of The Shield more than three months ago on Oct. 14. The New Age Outlaws last held the fifth of their twin titles on Feb. 12, 2000, almost 13 years ago! Can the ageless Outlaws turn the clock back to the days of the Monday Night War one more time or will The Rhodes Brothers continue to live the American Dream?
The question will be answered on Royal Rumble Kickoff this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT, live on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox, Sony PS3, Pinterest and Pheed.
