Result » Saturday Morning Slam - Jan 5 2013
This week's Saturday morning show started with a video package documenting 3MB coming together as individuals to form a "dynamic" group. This was followed by a video on WWE tag champions Daniel Bryan and Kane forming a strange tandem before finally agreeing to put aside their individual "I am the tag team champions" feelings for the betterment of the group. It's 3MB vs. the tag champs in individual matches today.

Backstage: Natalya brought in Kane and Daniel Bryan for a Saturday morning interview. Kane noted they are the tag champions, which Bryan confirmed. Bryan then angrily asked whether 3MB is a real band because he hasn't seen them play a single musical instrument. Natalya then asked if they're excited to appear on Slam. "I am absolutely ecstatic," Kane said dryly. Bryan paused and said he doesn't know whether he's kidding. Bryan then asked Kane if he's going to watch his match, and Kane did not give a straight answer. Kane walked away, leaving Bryan to wonder about their status again.

It's Jinder Mahal vs. Kane up next.

In-ring: 3MB's music played to bring out Jinder Mahal and his crew before Josh Mathews and Smackdown GM Booker T introduced the in-ring portion of the show. After 3MB played air-guitar in the ring, Kane's pyro shot off to bring out one-half of the tag champs. No Daniel Bryan, though.

1 -- WWE tag champion KANE vs. 3MB (JINDER MAHAL w/Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre)

Kane started with a running dropkick on Mahal, then he uppercut Mahal. WWE went to a very wide corner shot of the ring as Kane inflicted more punishment, giving the ringside yellow-jacket security some TV time. Mahal had enough of Kane, so he bailed from the ring to talk strategy with Slater and Mac. All three then teased going after Kane, but Daniel Bryan's music played to bring Bryan to the ring to back up Kane.

Bryan stood on the ring apron to intimidate Slater and Mac, shouting, "No!" at their attempted shenanigans. Ref Scott Armstrong had enough of this and ordered Mahal back into the ring. In the background, Kane climbed to the top rope, then waited for Mahal to turn around and deliver a flying clothesline. Kane covered Mahal for the win.

WINNER: Kane at 2:50.

Post-match: Slater and McIntyre tried to intimidate Daniel Bryan, who was next in-line to face an individual 3MB member.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Daniel Bryan provided this week's Don't Try This At Home video message while sitting on a trainer's table. This was long, long ago with Bryan having short hair and a small beard.

2 -- WWE tag champion DANIEL BRYAN (w/Kane) vs. HEATH SLATER (w/3MB)

Back in the ring, the bell sounded to begin Bryan's match against 3MB. After Slater nearly got counted out, he reluctantly entered the ring and tried to throw off Bryan by playing the air guitar. Bryan answered with a knee to the gut before shouting, "No!" at the 3MB members ringside. Meanwhile, Booker said Bryan is a sparkplug who can flat out go.

Bryan got distracted by "Yes!" chants before walking into a boot to the gut from Slater. Slater put Bryan on the mat, then air-guitared, which allowed Bryan to come back with a surfboard stretch. Slater refused to give up, though, so Bryan continued to punish Slater. Slater finally found an opening to send Bryan flying to the outside. On the floor, 3MB approached Bryan for potential shenanigans, but Kane walked over to intimidate the band members leading to break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Slater was in control back in the ring. More air-guitar action before Slater leaned against the ropes to soak in his performance. Slater followed with a hard Irish Whip into the corner, resulting in a two count. As Slater continued to attack Bryan, WWE continued to cut to Booker and Mathews, who were looking down at their TV monitors while calling the action. It's what they're supposed to, but it looks so goofy when they're sitting ten feet away from the action right in front of them in the ring.

Slater settled into a mat submission, which Bryan escaped after shouting, "No!" over and over. Bryan then flipped over Slater, ducked a clothesline, and nailed a running kick to Slater. Bryan followed with a running "No!" corner dropkick for a nearfall. Bryan then teased the No! Lock, but Slater avoided. 3MB tried to run interference after seeing Slater in jeopardy, but they couldn't get to Bryan. Bryan then slapped on the No! Lock on Slater center ring for a submission win.

WINNER: D-Bryan via submission at 10:52. A fine TV match with Slater getting his chance to shine before Bryan ultimately stood tall.

Post-match: Kane and Bryan gathered together in the ring to "celebrate" with their individual Tag Title belts. WWE then replayed the tag champs's individual victories over 3MB on the show.

Backstage: Natalya brought in Damien Sandow for an interview. Sandow noted that in his infinite wisdom, he has decided to grace Saturday Morning Slam with his presence. His goal? To clean up the rubbish seen on Saturday morning television. Therefore, he will compete in the ring next week and implement a rigorous syllabus, including Science, English, Astronomy, and Spelling. Randy Orton suddenly walked into the shot and said he has a spelling lesson for Sandow: R-K-O. Orton said he'll see him next week. Sandow, taken back, muttered under his breath about Orton's lesson, then Orton vs. Sandow was made official for next week to end the show.
